WHY FALL LEAGUE
At the outset allow me again to congratulate all the PBAM staff/volunteers, chairpersons and their members, the coaches, managers, sponsors, advertisers and all the players for the successful hosting this year's NABA Tournament. All the officials old and new, the PBAM supporters and fans spoke very highly of the Labor Day weekend and I am indeed very
proud of everyone.
Lessons learned from the NABA tournament includes the necessity to improve our game performances thus the need for more games, more practices and tournaments,
Lets face the truth about the poor performance by our youth.
All our teams from the Juveniles to the Tykes have demonstrated unsatisfactory results, all because of lack of more competitive experiences.
These are the obvious reason that prompted me to pursue my previous plans of conducting a fall league or probably an all year round league.
For details of the Fall League, contact Dante Manipula and Wilson Rodriguez. Call me for any question. 248-330-7263

MILLION THANKS TO ALL
To all the PBAM Staff, Chairpersons, Volunteers, Friiends and those in one way or the other supported, and helped in the successful hosting of the NABA Tournament, A million Thanks to all.
After 3 days of business convention at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, 2 days of driving back and forth from Arizona to Vegas to visit my grandchildren that I have not seen for a year and losing my lap top computer, I am glad and lucky to have an access on the internet and write something for everyone.
First, it’s been my utmost desire to extend my heartiest gratitude for everyone’s cooperative effort in putting up the most talked, most appreciated, most praised, NABA hosting ever.
Secondly, I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to The Open, The Seniors #2 and The Masters for winning the Championship in their respective divisions. This is an accomplishment that we should all be proud of for years to come.
Although we compete with the intention to win, I want to remind you all that winning is not all that matters. Participating is as good as winning, therefore since we participated in all divisions, we are all winners.
Lastly, I will be calling a general meeting soon as I come back to town to talk and celebrate our very successful 21st NABA Tournament.
Again thank you all from the heart.

The meeting will start promptly at 6:45pm.
The roster prepared by Vice Commissioner Wilson Rodriguez that came from each of the 10 coaches will be final and no alteration(s) will be allowed. Sr. Vice commissioner Dante Manipula is now in the process of creating the schedules/brackets for the tournament. At this point where the NABA event is just a mere 10 days away, all decisions will be final and no request(s) will be considered or entertained.

ATTENTION-by the Commish
City Directors, Coaches, Coordinators, Players;
Today Aug. 9 is the last day of submission of team roster. This is to inform everyone that only the Open, the Seniors 1 & 2, Juniors, Bantam, Ladies and the Tykes has in submitted their team roster. PBAM wish to thank them for their promptness in complying with PBAM-NABA rules. We need Masters, Juveniles and Peewee rosters immediately.
I want to remind the rest of the teams that they have 24 hour to comply with the requirements if they want to be included in the Detroit delegation. Only legit players on the roster can play. Any team who fail to submit a roster is a cause for suspension in the NABA-or simply; No roster no play, no name in the roster, no play. This is the PBAM and NABA rule. Also I want to remind you that only those approved by the Commissioner can play, both PBAM and NABA. Again 24 hours is all you have to submit your team roster. I don’t know of any reason of what’s keeping some of the coaches so long in submitting their roster.
An ideal team is a selection from among the whole PBAM teams that participated in our 2008 tournament. It should not be a team to give pleasure to friends and relatives. It should be a team that satisfies the community and the PBAM and not for a chosen few (friends and relative) As I give the favor to the coaches, I don’t expect these coaches to extend these favors to their favorites (friends and relatives)
Appointing you to coach a team is a favor in itself, approving your request for some less qualified players is another, however for coaches to extend the favor I gave, to their friends and relatives is a No, No and I will not tolerate this abuse.
Only 12 members is allowed in a team. Should there be anyone who wish to put up a team in any division can call 238-330-7263 to discuss the details. I am waiting for the rosters.

Dear all,
Although previously I intended to meet with the coaches only for Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Sala Thai Restaurant located at 14-mile bet. Other agendas will follow as planned.
Please bring your solicited ads, 2 each to make our souvenir program impressive. Again thank you for your anticipated cooperation. I ‘ll see you All at the meeting. Call me if you have any question. Best wishes and God bless.

ATTENTION EVERYONE
Hello everyone,
As I spent time in trying to recuperate from a nagging condition-illness causing excruciating pain on my left ankle from spraining it twice, that leads to the development of gout, then an infection from severe scratching caused me to undergo serious treatment. I had difficulty ambulating and have to use an assistive device(cane-walker) to move from one distance to another.
I am sure that while I am working on my recovery, all the coaches and everyone are strongly preparing for their given or volunteered assignment. I did not call a meeting for week but I want to let you know that we are making up for last week by having 2-3 meeting this coming week. I will meet separately with every committee.
The coaching Staff-Tuesday-Sala-Thai restaurant-on 14 mile bet Dequendre and Ryan –the meeting will start at 6:30pm This is for coaches only. No ladies, women ,or children or anyone not involve with coaching.
Wednesday-Ads , Program, Registration, Screening, Committee
Friday-Other Committee
I expect that everyone will bring their solicited ads on the next meeting (2 each as we agreed). This is not the time for promises or talks, this is action time.
More announcement coming. Thank you all

Subsequently a practice is called for the Open and the Seniors division only to be held at the OCC in Auburn Hills. At 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The coaches will explain every player’s financial obligations.
I want every participant to know that this is more like a try-outs and in order for a player to be assured of a spot in the team, they must passed these criteria or possess the following
1.Commitment 2. Availability 3. Team Concept 4. Coach able 5. Excellent attendance in practice 6. protect the interest and integrity of to the Association the PBAM, respect to the Coach and his staff and his teammates.
Contrary to the belief of some members of a Championship team, the Champion team is not and will never represent the PBAM alone in a national competition, like the NABA. It has never been and will never be. At the same token any coach of a Champion team will not necessarily be the coach of a national team. The team for the city of Detroit always comes from a selection from among all the teams that played in the PBAM for that year. The coach of all the teams, all divisions is through the recommendations of the Deputy Commissioners and PBAM coaching staff. It must be approve by the PBAM/NABA Commissioner.
